Supporting Our Youth and Young Adults

Navigating the physical and emotional changes of youth and young adulthood can be tough. At Ramsay Clinic Albert Road, we understand that young people face unique challenges that can affect their mental health.

Common Concerns:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Eating disorders
  • Self-harm or suicidal thoughts
  • Attachment/relationship difficulties
  • School refusal
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Social and behavioural problems

Treatment Options at Ramsay Clinic Albert Road

We believe in a holistic approach that addresses the needs of the whole family, not just the young person. Our compassionate team can provide a safe and supportive environment with treatment plans tailored to your needs.

This may include:

  • Inpatient Program: The Adolescent Unit (ages 14-22) offers specialised inpatient care for young people struggling with emotional or behavioural difficulties. For those 18 and older, admission is based on a thorough assessment to ensure the program aligns with their specific maturity and care needs. This may mean placement in a different ward that's better suited to their situation.
  • Day Programs: We offer a variety of evidence-based group therapy programs designed to address specific needs. These programs help young people develop coping mechanisms, manage symptoms, and prevent relapse. Click here to view a list of our day programs.
  • Outpatient Services: Our outpatient service provides expert psychiatric assessments, consultations, and personalised treatment plans. This may include short-term or long-term therapy tailored to your individual needs.

How we help:

  • Person-Centered Care: We focus on understanding and addressing your individual needs and goals.
  • Holistic Treatment: Our programs address not only the emotional aspects of mental health but also physical health, nutrition, and social well-being.
  • Evidence-Based Therapies: We utilise effective therapies like CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and psychotherapy to equip you with essential coping skills.
  • Supportive Environment: We foster a safe and supportive space for you to express yourself and work towards recovery.
  • Family Collaboration: We believe in working collaboratively with families to empower young people and build a strong support system.
