Getting a referral

To book an outpatient appointment, admit as an inpatient or attend a day or Community Program, you must have a referral from your General Practitioner.

Please ask your GP or health professional for a referral to Albert Road Clinic or to a specific Psychiatrist at Albert Road Clinic. To find a Psychiatrist please use our Psychiatrist search tool.

Inpatient Referrals

  1. Your GP will send a referral to Albert Road Clinic where it will be reviewed by a member of our intake team.
  2. They will then contact you to undertake a health fund check and obtain additional information from you.
  3. The intake team member will then reach out to an Albert Road Clinic Psychiatrist with expertise in the area you require assistance.
  4. If admission criteria are met and a Psychiatrist agrees to admission, the intake team will contact you to arrange your admission.

Please note, on occasions where there is not a Psychiatrist available, the intake team will notify yourself and your General Practitioner.
