Chris Davey is a Professor at The University of Melbourne and works as a psychiatrist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Ramsay Clinic Albert Road. His main clinical and research interest is in the management of mood disorders, and he has worked for many years with older adolescents and young adults with depression and bipolar disorder. He is also interested in other mental health disorders, and in other age groups.

Chris Davey is the Head of Department of Psychiatry at the University of Melbourne and a psychiatrist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. He is the current Editor of the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Psychiatry. Chris’s main clinical and research interest is in the management of severe mood disorders, especially in young people. He has led, or is leading, large multicentre clinical trials of treatments for depression and bipolar disorder at the university and RMH. 

Chris completed his medical degree at the University of Western Australia. He trained in psychiatry in Sydney and Melbourne, and completed his PhD at the University of Melbourne. Before he commenced his current roles, Chris worked for many years at Orygen, a youth mental health clinical and research program in Melbourne.
