Dr Balakrishna has been a Consultant Psychiatrist since 2014, initially working within the NHS before relocating to Queensland in 2022. He was awarded the prestigious Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) in 2024. With dual sub-specialties in General Adult Psychiatry and Older Age Psychiatry, Dr Balakrishna brings a wealth of experience to his clinical practice.

In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr Balakrishna has a strong academic interest in the teaching and training of medical students and psychiatry trainees. Over the years, he has mentored and supervised registrars and served as a Clinical Supervisor for psychiatry trainees, helping to shape the next generation of mental health professionals. He has also held the role of Clinical Director within the NHS Trust, demonstrating his leadership capabilities and commitment to improving patient care.

Dr Balakrishna takes a holistic, evidence-based approach to treatment, prioritizing a collaborative partnership with patients and their families to ensure the best possible care.

Dr Sahitya Kamineni completed her medical training in India in 2002. During her training in Psychiatry in the UK, she worked in a range of University and district general hospitals around East London, York and Manchester. She was awarded her Membership of Royal College of Psychiatrists, UK in 2007 and then her CCT in General Adult Psychiatry along with endorsements in Consultation Liaison Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry in 2012. Dr Kamineni is a professional member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, UK and the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.

Sahitya has extensive experience in medical leadership including workplace-based postgraduate medical education in Psychiatry. She worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist in outpatient and inpatient settings in the UK until 2017. This variety of experience continued as she achieved her Australian fellowship in 2019 and moved to Rockhampton to work as a Consultant Psychiatrist at the Central Queensland Public Mental Health Service.

Sahitya now provides consultation liaison psychiatry services and outpatient services with a particular interest in General Adult Psychiatry and Consultation Liaison Psychiatry including Perinatal Mental Health Disorders and Psycho-Oncology. She provides consultation liaison services and has admission rights to Ramsay Clinic at Hillcrest Rockhampton Private Hospital.

Dr Pramod Menon is a psychiatrist and a fitness enthusiast. He has an interest in psychosis, mood, anxiety, eating disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism spectrum disorders.

Before moving to Australia, Dr Pramod was a psychiatrist with the National Health Services of the United Kingdom. He started his career in psychiatry in the United Kingdom and completed his training with membership in 2008. Following that, he completed the Royal College of Psychiatry higher training in general adult psychiatry with additional endorsement in rehabilitation psychiatry in 2013. Whilst in his clinical roles, Pramod has also obtained a postgraduate certificate in medical education (PGCE) from the UK and was engaged in research.

Dr Pramod moved to Rockhampton in 2015, where he was a Psychiatrist at the Rockhampton Hospital. He also held the title of ‘Lecturer’ at the University of Queensland (UQ).

Dr Pramod is a member of The Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) which he achieved in 2008. He achieved the Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) in 2017. He lives with his family in Rockhampton, Queensland.

Dr Pramod began private practice on June 1st 2017. In addition to providing clinical services at the We Care Clinic (Suite 6, Hillcrest Rockhampton Private Hospital, 2 Talford Street, Rockhampton, 4700), he will also have admission rights to Archerview Clinic at Hillcrest Rockhampton Private Hospital.

Dr Lynne Steele was a graduate of the University of Glasgow Medical School in 1995 and undertook further training in psychiatry in the UK obtaining MRCPsych in 2002.

Further advanced training culminated in CCT (completion certificate of specialist training) in General adult psychiatry with an interest in mood and anxiety disorder plus CCT in Consultation Liaison psychiatry (PMETB 2006). Dr Steele also has an interest in perinatal psychiatry, eating disorder and somatoform disorder.

After immigrating to Australia in 2006 she has worked as a Psychiatrist within the public health service for four years prior to entering private practice.

Dr Steele held the position of academic coordinator for mental health with the University of QLD –Rural Division from 2007-2010. She has completed training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, CBT, Cognitive analytical therapy and also EMDR.

Her interests include psychotherapy plus general adult and consultation liaison psychiatry in particular perinatal psychiatry, mood and anxiety disorders, eating disorder and PTSD.
