Helen Schmidt is a registered psychologist with a wide range of experience, in both the private and the public sector, providing care and support to help her clients manage their mental health and re-engage with their community.

Helen has worked in private practice for more than a decade. 

She specialises in assisting adults who experience problems such as depression, anxiety, family problems, suicidal ideation, trauma, grief and loss, alcohol and substance abuse, stress and workplace concerns. 

She is a warm, friendly, and compassionate person. Helen is empathetic, and her non-judgemental attitude helps to build a strong rapport and trust with those she treats. Helen works collaboratively with her clients to help them build self-confidence in their ability to achieve the goals that are important to them. She actively helps people to find meaning, live in accord with their values and make positive changes in their lives.

Helen’s main therapeutic modality is evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. However, she adapts her approach by drawing on a variety of treatments, tailoring the therapy to best suit the needs of each client.
