28 December 2021
We have received four notifications between 21 December and 28 December that a total of four individuals who work at Ramsay Clinic New Farm have been confirmed as positive COVID-19 cases. It is understood that at least three of these individuals acquired the virus separately from external sources (outside the clinic).
After each notification was received, we immediately completed urgent contact tracing of any contacts within the clinic. We have identified a number of staff and patients as contacts; they are all required to undergo testing and remain in isolation pending their results. To date, all results returned from these tests have been negative.
In addition to the mandatory use of PPE and a 100% staff vaccination rate, there are currently restrictions on groups, dining room access and visitors to the clinic. These measures are designed to keep patients and staff safe and will continue for a short time until all test results are known. Given the limitations on day leave, some patients may elect to be discharged home in consultation with their treating doctor.
We have been providing regular updates to our patients, staff and doctors over the past week to ensure they are informed and will continue to do so as more details become available.
