The physical and emotional changes through adolescence and young adulthood can make young people particularly vulnerable to mental health issues. They commonly experience a number of difficulties including anxiety, attachment disorders, depression, and self-harm or suicide risk.
It’s vital that young people and their families can access specialised support and treatment as soon as they require it, in order to improve outcomes.
Where outpatient care is not leading to improvements, structured, short term inpatient care providing skills to cope with mental health problems improve the trajectories for young people.
The Ramsay Clinic New Farm Adolescent and Young Adult Mental Health Service is a unique service designed to care for the mental health of young people aged 14 to 25 years old.

Our Day Programs will be designed to provide young people with continued support as they transition back to everyday life, study and work. Facilitated by psychologists and psychiatrists, our programs will complement the care they receive from their own GP and specialist treatment team.
