Associate Professor Warren Ward is a psychiatrist with extensive experience in eating disorders. He is Director of the Queensland Eating Disorders Service (QuEDS), Chair of the Queensland Health Eating Disorder Advisory Group, and co-author of the RANZCP Clinical Practice Guidelines for Eating Disorders. Since 2023, he has led the Eating Disorders Program at Ramsay Clinic New Farm and directs the Ramsay Mental Health Eating Disorders Training Program for psychiatrists.

Associate Professor Warren Ward

Profile

Warren is an Associate Professor at The University of Queensland and has held the position of Director, Queensland Eating Disorders Service (QuEDS) since 2005. He is Chair of the Queensland Health Eating Disorder Advisory Group and co-author of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry (RANZCP) Clinical Practice Guidelines for Eating Disorders. In 2017 he received the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Eating Disorders (ANZAED) Distinguished Achievement Award. In 2018 he was elected a Fellow of the International Academy of Eating Disorders. He has published more than forty articles and book chapters, most of them on eating disorders.   

Warren commenced as Director Eating Disorders at Ramsay Clinic New Farm in January 2023.  He is also Director of the new Ramsay Mental Health Eating Disorders Training Program.  This program is designed for new fellows and established psychiatrists with an interest in entering the field of Eating Disorders and runs for 12 months. It includes regular structured supervision sessions supported by a digital lecture series and has been running successfully in Ramsay Mental Health’s Sydney services since February 2021 under the directorship of Associate Professor Sloane Madden.
