Dr Mahdod Eftekar

Dr Eftekar trained in psychiatry at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane. He then pursued subspecialty training in Consultation Liaison Psychiatry which is the interface between psychological and medical health. His interests also include neuropsychiatry, sleep disorders, ADHD, mood and anxiety disorders.

He also has expertise in clinical eclectic psychotherapy. Dr Nepal offers a range of services to his patients, including psychiatric assessments for clinical work, or insurance related opinions and reports, for medico legal works e.g Independent Medical Examination(IME), professional supervision, weekly psychotherapy, and Workcover services. He is committed to providing high-quality care and support to his patients, and their families, ensuring their mental health needs are met effectively. Having gained wide and vast experience and knowledge throughout his career, Dr Mahendra Nepal is a respected senior psychiatrist in the field. He has worked in various clinical settings and has a particular interest in Trauma related disorders (both civilian and combat related), primary care related psychiatry and medical psychiatry. Through his compassionate and evidence-based approach, he strives to make a positive impact on the mental well-being of his patients. Aside from English, Dr Nepal also speaks Nepali, Hindi, Bhojpuri, Maithali, and Urdu.

He currently holds a Senior Psychiatrist position at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital and is a Senior Lecturer with the University of Queensland.
