Mitcham Private Hospital would like to introduce Dr Lochanie Fonseka, psychiatrist. Lochanie has 10 years of psychiatric experience in both Australia and New Zealand. She obtained her fellowship in general adult psychiatry from RANZCP.
She has also completed her advanced training in old age psychiatry. Lochanie holds a position at Peninsula Health as a general adult psychiatrist. She also works as an adjunct senior lecturer at Monash University.
Lochanie consults onsite at Mitcham Private Hospital’s consulting suites and also treats patients in Victoria Court (Mitcham Private Hospital) a contemporary 21 bed inpatient unit purpose designed to facilitate mental health recovery and our 6 bed perinatal mental health unit that provides home-like, comfortable surroundings.
Dr Malcolm Foxtrot is general adult psychiatrist with experience across a range of inpatient and outpatient settings. He has an interest in eating disorders.
Alex completed a Bachelor of Medical Science at the University of Sydney prior to entering medicine at the Australian National University (ANU). He spent a year with the Centre of Mental Health Research (CMHR) before graduating Medicine in 2013. Alex completed internship and residency at Nepean Hospital then commenced psychiatry training in Northern Sydney. During this time Alex was seconded to rural locations including Orange and Broken Hill. He completed advanced training on the Central Coast in 2023 and gained his fellowship in 2024. Alex currently works as a staff specialist at Gosford Hospital.
Dr Freeman does not provide tele-health services.
Dr Gallagher is a member of the faculties of both Child and Adolescent Psychiatry as well as Adult Psychiatry; in addition to this he is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Eating Disorders. He treats a broad range of psychiatric conditions with interests in somatisation disorders (this includes eating disorders). Applying a varied approach to his practice he tailors ethical, holistic management to the individual and their condition. This includes working with the family and extended support network.
Dr Hannah Galloway is a consultant psychiatrist with an interest in eating disorders and women’s mental health.
Dr Galloway commenced psychiatry training in Brisbane in 2017 after working as a junior doctor in Melbourne. She completed medical school at the University of Notre Dame Sydney in 2014 and graduated from a Bachelor of Science at the University of Queensland in 2009. During her Psychiatry training she has worked across a number of services including the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Caboolture Hospital, Children’s Health Queensland and the Mater Hospital.
Dr Galloway also works as a Psychiatrist at Mater Catherine’s House for mothers, babies and families. She uses attachment principles in all her approaches to patient care and believes that building a therapeutic alliance is a key factor in recovery and improving the quality of life and relationships for those struggling with mental illness.
Dr Kathryn Galvin is a general adult psychiatrist with an interest in depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar and psychotherapy.
