Clinical Practice

Prof. Brian Power is a Consultant Neuropsychiatrist at Hollywood Private Hospital and The HollywoodClinic, Nedlands. His special interest include:

His neuropsychiatry practice caters for patients with psychiatric conditions secondary to organic brain disease. Particularly neurological disorders including, stroke, multiple sclerosis, parkinsonian disorders, Huntington’s disease, seizure disorders. His older Adult Mental Health service treats patients with psychiatric conditions including problems with mood and anxiety symptoms, psychotic symptoms, and memory complaints.

Background & Training

Professor Brian Power obtained his postgraduate medical degree at The University of Sydney, together with his PhD in clinical neuroscience at The Institute for Biomedical Research, investigating the brain circuitry of the thalamus. He obtained specialist registration as a psychiatrist in Western Australia, and completed subspecialist training in psychiatry of old age before working as a consultant psychogeriatrician in the South Metropolitan Area Health Service. His clinical expertise is in neuropsychiatry and older adult mental health.

He has extensive postdoctoral research experience in neuropsychiatry and neuroimaging, with a research focus on investigating the thalamus as a putative neuroimaging biomarker in neurodegenerative disorders. He is passionate about medical education and fostering the development of tomorrow’s doctors, and has recently served as Professor and A/Dean (Preclinical) at The School of Medicine Fremantle (University of Notre Dame Australia). He is now Adjunct Professor at UNDA and continues to enjoy research and teaching activities.

Dr Radmanesh completed his medical and General Psychiatry training at the Royal Melbourne hospital. He then commenced advanced training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Alfred Hospital. During his training, he worked in Child and Adolescent psychiatry inpatient units at the Royal and Monash Children’s hospitals. 

Dr Radmanesh believes that adolescence is a period of dynamic physiological, neurocognitive and behavioural changes and that during early developmental phases; the brain is uniquely susceptible to stress. Accordingly, Dr Radmanesh supports the conceptual framework of early diagnosis and interventions for children and adolescent. He enjoys working with children, adolescents and their families to develop a positive outcome, which is rewarding to both patients and Dr Radmanesh himself. Dr Radmanesh has an interest in neurodevelopmental disorders such as Autism Spectrum disorders and ADHD.

Born in Serbia, Dr Radovic finished school and completed his specialist training in psychiatry in 1992. Following a successful career as a specialist Psychiatrist in a renowned state hospital in Serbia, he decided to move internationally, spending a number of years in Cyprus and Europe.

In 2004, Dr Radovic relocated to Australia where he worked in private practice on the Sunshine Coast before moving to Victoria in 2015. During this time he pursued a career in public mental health, leading acute intervention clinical teams. 

In 2020, Dr Radovic was promoted into the role of Clinical Director of Mental Health at the Warrnambool Mental Health Service before commencing at Robina Private Hospital.

In 2022, Dr Radovic accepted the role of Clinical Director of Mackay MHS before moving to Cairns.

Dr Radovic interests are in general adult psychiatry, PTSD, mood disorders, psychotherapy and ECT, VVA and DVA clients with PTSD, for which he has vast experience.

Dr Radovic’s personal interests extend to spending time with his family outdoors, playing sport and traveling.

Dr Raghupathy is a medical doctor, and completed her medical training in India. She has completed her Advanced Training in Intellectual Disability Mental Health and Paediatric Neuropsychiatry in addition to Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.   She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and new Zealand College of Psychiatrists, and is trained as both General Adult and Child and, Adolescent Psychiatrist.

 

In addition to private psychiatric practice, Dr Raghupathy works in the public hospital sector and is currently appointed as a Staff Specialist Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead.  She is a member of the RANZCP Special Interest group in Psychiatry of Intellectual and Developmental Disability (SIGPIDD)

Dr Vijay Raj is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. He is interested in the assessment and management of older teenagers and young adults for a wide variety of psychiatric conditions, including mood disorders, psychotic disorders, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, trauma – related disorders, personality disorders, autism spectrum disorder and ADHD.
