Substance Misuse & Addiction

If you or someone you know is battling alcohol addiction, you're not alone. Alcohol addiction is a serious disease, but it's also treatable. Ramsay Clinic Beleura, located on the Mornington Peninsula, offers a specialised inpatient program designed to help adults overcome addiction and achieve lasting recovery.

What is Alcohol Addiction?

When someone uses alcohol excessively and regularly, they become dependent on it to function. This dependence can have devastating consequences for a person's physical, social, and mental health.

How Can Ramsay Clinic Beleura Help?

At Ramsay Clinic Beleura, we understand the challenges of overcoming alcohol addiction. Our compassionate and non-judgmental environment provides the foundation for a successful recovery journey.

Our Alcohol Rehabilitation Program:

  • Tailored for Adults: Our program is specifically designed for adults aged 18 or over struggling with alcohol addiction.
  • Focus on Underlying Issues: We address the root causes of addiction, helping patients understand their triggers and develop coping mechanisms.
  • Holistic Approach: Our program incorporates various techniques, including individual and group therapy, medication management, nutritional guidance, and exercise plans.
  • Relapse Prevention Strategies: We equip patients with the necessary tools and skills to prevent relapse and maintain long-term sobriety.
  • Family Involvement: We encourage family members to participate in the recovery process, fostering a supportive network system.

Comprehensive Treatment Phases:

Our inpatient program is 28 days in length and split into three phases.

  • Phase 1: Medical Stabilization: A qualified medical team conducts a comprehensive assessment and provides any necessary medication to manage withdrawal symptoms comfortably. This phase ensures your physical safety and well-being as you begin the detoxification process.
  • Phase 2: Recovery: Through individual and group therapy sessions, patients develop healthy coping mechanisms, build self-esteem, and learn effective communication skills. You'll explore the root causes of your addiction and develop strategies for managing cravings and triggers.
  • Phase 3: Support: Our team provides ongoing support and guidance to reinforce positive behaviours and prevent relapse. This phase focuses on preparing you for life after the program, with a tailored relapse prevention plan and connection to ongoing support services.

Shorter Relapse Prevention Program:

For patients requiring additional support after a relapse, we offer a 10–14-day program focused on relapse prevention strategies and reinforcing the tools learned in the initial program.

Day Program

In addition to our specialised inpatient program, Ramsay Clinic Beleura also offers an Alcohol Outpatient Therapy Program. This program is specifically designed for individuals who have already made significant progress in overcoming alcohol dependence. It provides a supportive environment:

  • Minimise risk of relapse: Develop relapse prevention strategies and maintain long-term sobriety.
  • Share experiences: Connect with others who understand your challenges and celebrate your triumphs.
  • Receive feedback and validation: Gain valuable insights and encouragement from therapists and peers.
