Neurostimulation and Advanced Interventional Treatments

At Ramsay Mental Health, we provide comprehensive, evidence-based solutions for a wide range of mental health conditions, particularly for individuals who have not yet found success with standard therapies or medications. Our growing focus is on neurostimulation and other cutting-edge interventional treatments that may offer new hope for those experiencing treatment-resistant mental health challenges.

Innovative Neurostimulation Therapies

Ramsay Mental Health offers a variety of established and emerging neurostimulation treatments, including:

  • Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT): A safe and effective medical procedure performed under general anaesthesia to treat severe depression and mania. It involves delivering brief electrical currents to the brain to induce a seizure which may improve symptoms when other treatments have not been successful.
  • repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS): A non-invasive form of neurostimulation using magnetic fields to stimulate targeted brain areas for mood regulation. rTMS is effective for treating depression and other conditions in adults, with no anaesthesia or medication required. Our rTMS service is provided on site.

Personalised Treatment Plans and Evaluation

Our experienced team of psychiatrists and mental health specialists at Ramsay Mental Health is dedicated to crafting individualised treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique diagnosis, treatment history, and previous responses. For those who have not achieved the desired outcomes with traditional therapies, our team may explore the suitability of neurostimulation. A detailed assessment will determine if a referral for these specialised services is the right path forward.

At Ramsay Mental Health, we remain committed to providing the latest advancements in mental health care, ensuring our patients have access to the most up-to-date, evidence-based treatments available.
