Feeling anxious or stressed occasionally is perfectly normal. But sometimes, these feelings become overwhelming and persistent, impacting daily life. This is when anxiety takes hold.
Anxiety is the most common mental health condition in Australia, affecting around one in four people.
Anxiety is a necessary reaction. It is part of everyday life. It is an important cue to tell you when something is wrong and when you may need to take action. Anxiety is very helpful for you to tackle life’s challenges. It can improve performance – as long as it does not exceed an ‘optimum range’. If too high, your anxiety can impede your performance. During group therapy we discuss and help you ‘Understand your experiences of Anxiety’ as well as develop techniques to manage these unwanted symptoms.
