Feeling sad or down from time to time is a normal part of life. However, some people experience intense sadness and low mood that is difficult to shake. This is called depression.
People with depression may experience poor sleep, a lack of motivation or interest, and a feeling of emptiness or numbness. These feelings interfere with their daily lives, making it difficult to do things they would otherwise enjoy.
Different people will experience depression in different ways, and as such treatment for depression will vary from person to person.
We offer both day and inpatient programs for our patients depending on the level of assistance they need as determined in conjunction with their health care professional.
Our specialised, supportive day program is suited to people who need help recovering from or dealing with mental health concerns, giving them lasting confidence in managing their mental health.
Groups consist of psychoeducation, reflection activities, experiential learning, and group discussions.
These models help people with mental health concerns in exploring where their difficulties, issues or ways of behaving, thinking or feelings may come from.
The program runs for 10 weeks with the following topics covered in groups;
Our group programs are founded on the evidence-based mental health treatment Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), utilising aspects of Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT).
Inpatient treatment is where patients stay at the clinic for the duration of their treatment.
