What are Day Programs?

Day programs are structured group sessions led by experienced therapists. They provide a safe and supportive environment to learn valuable skills, connect with others facing similar challenges, and manage your specific mental health condition.

Day Programs Offered at Ramsay Clinic Caloundra:

We offer a diverse range of day programs, including:

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Skills Based Day Program:
    • Meets once a week for 18 weeks.
    • Focuses on developing skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness, spending 6 weeks on each topic.
    • Requires individual DBT therapy and regular appointments with a psychiatrist.
    • Ideal for individuals with significant emotional dysregulation and unhelpful coping mechanisms.
    • Entry point for a new patient is every 6 weeks.
  • Managing Mood and Anxiety Day Program:
    • Helps you understand the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviour. You'll learn strategies to challenge unhelpful thinking patterns and develop coping mechanisms for anxiety, depression, and other mood disorders.
    • Meets once a week for 12 weeks.
  • Addiction Program:
    • Learn to manage substance misuse and dependence on alcohol, cannabis, or prescription drugs. It focuses on relapse prevention strategies and recovery plan review.
    • Meets once a week for 12 weeks.
