Carer support

We understand that having a loved one in the hospital for mental health challenges can be a stressful and confusing time. We’re here to support you during this process and are committed to provide you with comprehensive support.

Carer Support Groups

We are committed to involving carers in our programs and there are a number of carer support groups within our clinics and in the community that can help. These groups provide support and networking through linking carers with each other, education, and information on mental and physical illness as well as:

  • Managing your role as a carer: Setting boundaries, prioritising self-care, knowing when to seek help.
  • Mental and physical health information: Understanding your loved one's condition and its impact on you.
  • External support agencies: Connecting with resources to benefit both you and your loved one.

How to join a group

Ramsay Clinics in Northside, Cremorne, Macarthur, Wentworthville, and Thirroul offer informative online seminars specifically designed for families and friends of our current inpatients. These seminars provide valuable information about mental health conditions, treatment options, how to best support your loved one on their path to recovery and help connect you to additional resources and support networks available.

The seminars are held online via Microsoft Teams, making them convenient and accessible for everyone.

For further information or to book in to one of our Carer Support Seminars, please call the clinic your loved one is attending directly.
