Mental health conditions are wide ranging. People can experience different mental health challenges at different times in their lives or following different life experiences.

A number of Ramsay Mental Health services offer a general mental health ward, to care for patients experiencing general mental health issues and mood disorders, such as anxiety and depression.

Relapse Prevention Program

Aims to reduce the chance of relapse of a mental illness through ongoing skills review and practice in a group setting:

  • Psychoeducation 
  • Learning how to challenge unhelpful thinking
  • The importance of creating meaningful and healthy lifestyles
  • Reviewing problem solving skills, sleep hygiene, communication skills, emotion regulation skills and goal setting
  • Encourage participants to continue with physical activity as a component of ongoing symptom management
  • Encourage ongoing engagement and support with group participants

Duration

The program is run on an outpatient basis. 

One day a Month (First Friday) from 9am to 3pm.

Group Size

12 participants.

Eligibility & Admission 

Written referrals are required from General Practitioners, Psychiatrists

Once a referral is received, a consultation will be arranged with one of our psychiatrists, and if appropriate, referral will be made into the next available program

Inpatient 

Inpatient treatment is where patients stay at the clinic for the duration of their treatment.

Our Inpatient Program provides evidence-based mental health treatment. Our experienced, professional team aims to give patients the skills and confidence to manage their mental health concerns now and into the future.

Our team of highly qualified mental health practitioners helps people dealing with:

 

  • Anxiety disorders
  • Mood disorders
  • Schizophrenia
  • Adjustment disorder
  • Personality disorders
  • Alcohol dependency
  • Low self-esteem
  • Impaired relationship or communication skills
  • Intent to suicide
  • Grief and loss
  • Isolation
  • Diminished level of functioning

Admission to the program

Patients staying at the Bindarray Clinic are assessed for inclusion in the Inpatient program by the treating psychiatrist and the intake officer.

A guidebook containing information about the therapy program and a workbook with educational information and handouts related to group sessions is then provided.

The psychologist and/or nursing staff will then do an orientation tour of the clinic and introduce the patient to our recovery-oriented practice.
