Supporting Schizophrenia Research
Ramsay Health Care has been an active supporter of the Schizophrenia Research Institute (SRI) since 2005. As Australia's largest provider of private hospital mental health services, we see every day the impact that schizophrenia can have on sufferers, their families and the community at large. We support the valuable role that the SRI plays in undertaking research into this illness and to this end we are a long term partner with the SRI. We have donated over $250,000 over the past 5 years towards the Institute and the development of the Australian Schizophrenia Research Bank – the largest brain research project in Australia. We hope that this research will go some way towards making a difference.
Ramsay Health Care has launched a video featuring consultant psychiatrist Dr Jon Steinberg about the importance of RUOK? Day.
Dr Steinberg says the day reminds us that we should ask our workmates whether they are OK.
“Sometimes our workmates may just seem different, they are not their usual self…or there is a distinct change in their character. It is important to start a conversation with them – find out how they are travelling and get help for them if they need it.
Ramsay Health Care has been a major supporter of RUOK? Day since its inception. On RUOK? Day, 8 September, Ramsay facilities around the country will highlight RUOK? Day through a range of activities.
