Cheryl is a compassionate, skilful and authentic Counselling Psychologist, who regards it as a privilege to be trusted with helping clients through their vulnerabilities.  She has a particular interest working with both adult and adolescent clients experiencing complex trauma, anxiety, depression, addictions, personality disorder issues, communication deficits and challenges adjusting to various changes in life. Cheryl also enjoys facilitating group therapy sessions for both adults and adolescents which are psychoeducational and psychotherapeutic in nature. Outside of psychology, Cheryl loves music and group fitness instructing at the gym.

Cheryl regards the importance of a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship paramount in therapy. She values client-centered care as highly important and will work collaboratively with clients to find a therapeutic approach that fits best with their needs. She is experienced in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy and Group Therapy. Cheryl also believes in the importance of providing continuous care to her clients, therefore values liaising with other professionals to assist her clients.

Cheryl has over 15 years of experience across various setting, including facilitating group and individual therapy for inpatient/outpatient adolescents and adults at a mental health hospital, treating male adult sexual offenders both in prison and in the community, working as a telephone counsellor on crisis helplines, and as a student counsellor.
