Dr Tran is a consultant psychiatrist with over 15 years of clinical experience in the public and private sector working with people with a wide range of psychological distress and illnesses. Her areas of interest include working with complex trauma, refugee populations, perinatal mental health and eating disorders.
She has specialised in the field of eating disorders for the past 5 years, and is a credentialled eating disorder clinician (CEDC) with ANZAED, with experience in evidence-based psychotherapies including Enhanced Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Maudsley Family Based Therapy.
Dr Tran's approach is one that views mental health problems as a complex interplay of biological factors and the person’s culture, environment and experiences. Her aim to work in a collaborative way, drawing on the person and the system’s strengths; working alongside other disciplines and taking a holistic and systemic view of the presenting problem, and her work comes from a belief that each person has the capacity to heal and thrive with the right type of support.
Dr Tran's work at Ramsay New Farm will be with patients whose primary focus is assistance for their eating disorder. She will initially provide locum inpatient cover.
