Dr Byrne provides comprehensive psychiatric assessment and treatment services for children and adolescents, their families and young adults. She sees children and adolescents under the age of 16 and their families as outpatients only. Young adult patients are seen primarily on an outpatient basis although an inpatient service is offered at Ramsay Clinic Northside when required.

Profile

Dr Byrne is a medical doctor and completed her training at the University of NSW. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and has specialist qualifications in child, adolescent and family psychiatry.

Dr Byrne has many years of experience in the public hospital sector working as a Staff Specialist in Child Adolescent Psychiatrist at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead. She has previously been a member of the hospital’s consultation liaison service and has substantial experience managing inpatients and outpatients with eating disorders.

She also has experience working in regional areas in person and by telehealth.

Dr Byrne has a particular interest in the influence of family relationships on mental health problems and importance of relational networks as potentially helpful treatment resources. She has undertaken further training in this area with the Australian Institute of Relationship studies.

Young adult patients are seen primarily on an outpatient basis although an inpatient service is offered at Ramsay Clinic Northside when required.
